The Mediterranean Knights coach, Ricardo Iñuguez has stressed that their TotalEnergies CAF Futsal AFCON third-place match against Egypt is a final.
The former winners of the quadrennial competition will be vying for a place at this year's FIFA Futsal World Cup set to take place in September in Uzbekistan.
"It's our final and we have to win it. We know that Egypt has a very compact team aided by their pivot who is physically strong. They have an experienced team but we have to grab our opportunity to qualify for the FIFA Futsal World Cup," said the Libyan coach Ricardo Iñuguez.
"We played against Morocco with the ambition of winning but when we noticed that the margin was huge, we made some chances to rest some of the players for the third-place match and will be a dream come true if we manage to qualify for the World Cup."
The 7th edition of the TotalEnergies CAF Futsal AFCON in the Moroccan capital has lived up to its high expectations with great atmosphere and competitive teams battling for continental glory.
"We have only one day to rest and prepare for the match against Egypt because we have to be 100 percent focused against a great team," the Spaniard said.
"We're the underdogs and we knew the two automatic places to the World Cup will be difficult so this is our final."
Libya skipper Mohamed Suleiman Ghaeb admitted that the match against Gehad Arafa's side is their last opportunity to make the World Cup.
"This match is our last opportunity to qualify for World Cup and we're hopeful of winning this match," Ghaeb said.
"The chances are even and the team that focuses more on their game plan will win and I hope it will be our team."
