Wadi Degla – History awaits!

Not so many followers believed the Egyptians would start their campaign with a clear victory, as Degla wiped off Mali’s AS Mande 3-1 in the opening game.

Noha Mamdouh historic first ever TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Champions League goal paved the way for the Yellow Blacks to go all the way for maximum points. Fatumatu Dukureh and Jassmin Theresa added Wadi Degla two other goals, with goalkeeper Elham Abdelmalek producing some heroics to keep her side’s precious win.

Now they are eyeing one more that could see them all the way to the final four.

What they said

“We don’t put any pressure on the players, we only work on motivating them to introduce a good image of the Egyptian women’s football,” Wael El Sayed, Coach.

Malabo Kings – Now or Never!

Coming into the tournament as one of the favorites after their impressive qualification run that saw them winning all their four games on the road to Cairo, Malabo Kings were shocked by an opening 3-1 defeat to Ghana’s Hasaacas Ladies.

Despite seeing Drepoba Gbogou scoring their lone goal of the night, Malabo Kings will need a much better performance against the hosts if they need to revive their semifinal spot hopes. Another defeat could see them as the first side to go packing.

What they said

“We made many mistakes that lead to that result, but we will manage to do more effort in our next matches,” Ruben Garcia Gallego, Coach.
