Ndiaye: Against Guinea, the decision will be made in the first half

Aicha Henriette Ndiaye, the coach of the Senegalese U20 women's team who dominated Guinea 2-0 in the third round first leg of the qualifiers for the World Cup in the category, believes in her team's chances of passing this round against the same opponent, on Saturday in Conakry.

But that will require a good mastery of the game in order to conclude the match from the first half-time.

Speaking to CAFOnline.com, the technician announced the trend before the return match scheduled for this Saturday at the Stade du 28 Septembre in Conakry, Guinea from 4:00 p.m. GMT.

CAFOnline.com: After a 2-0 first leg win, you will be up against Guinea on Saturday for the second leg, what's the state of mind of the squad?

Aicha Henriette Ndiaye: It's going pretty well, we are a bunch of friends and we are preparing for the return leg in a good state of mind. We know that we will face a revengeful team from Guinea who will not let go after their backhand first leg. We explained to the Girls that we only won the first half, the second will be Saturday at the opponent's place.

How are you going to approach the return game?

Above all, we should not let them take the game for themselves. They are a team with strong physical and athletic strengths, so we will benefit from keeping the ball as long as possible. And the Guineans are not giving up and especially on this meeting, they will be even more motivated because it will be a derby. It will be a tough game, but it's up to us to show them that we have what it takes to get past this. Anyway, the result will be from the first half-time by not letting go.

How do you live this first experience as a national coach?

Very good, I was a player and an international from 2002 to 2005. I have coached men's and women's clubs and now this position of national coach is timely, it comes to signify the work done before. I am very happy with this decision by the national technical management to trust the ladies coaches. We have our word to say for the massification of football practice among girls and to help them reach the very high level. And we hope that those responsible at the national level will have the patience to let us unfold and put our knowledge into practice.
