CAF conveys condolences to the family of Madam Abla Hassan

The Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) is deeply saddened at the passing of Madam Abla Hassan, a true pioneer of the game on the continent.

Madam Abla began her journey with CAF in 1976, taking charge of the CAF Cup Winners’ Cup competition, a role that marked the start of an impactful career.

She was the main pillar of all CAF competitions, including the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations, and witnessed the creation of the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League and TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup.

She rose to become CAF’s Competitions Director, a position she held until her retirement in August 2013.

CAF conveys its deepest condolences to the family of Madam Abla.
