DR Congo coach Florent Ibenge on Friday, 23 December 2016 named a provisional 31-man squad for the Total Africa Cup of Nations Gabon 2017.

Defender Jordan Iroko, who has represented France at various youth levels, has been included in the squad after FIFA sanctioned his switch to play for the Leopards. Eight of the squad ply their trade in the DR Congo league with CAF Confederation Cup winners, TP Mazembe contributing five of them.

The Leopards are scheduled to hold a training camp at the CAF Centre of Excellence in Mbankomo, about 33 kilometres from the Cameroonian capital, Yaounde, later this month. In December 2014, the Congolese held a training camp at the same facility before leaving for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea where they finished third.

Making their third success appearance at the flagship continental football championship since 2013, the Leopards will have to contend with holders Cote d’Ivoire, Morocco and Togo in Group C, with Oyem as their base.
