Flags of all 24 participating nations flutter across the streets and around the stadiums, while fans in Fez eagerly anticipate moments of magic from Africa’s brightest stars at the venue — from proven goal scorers like Osimhen, Lookman and Okello to next-generation talents such as Miroshi and Hannibal.

Victor Osimhen – Nigeria | Galatasaray
The 2023 African Footballer of the Year is one of AFCON 2025’s biggest draws.
Osimhen has scored six goals in 12 league appearances for Galatasaray and is also among the UEFA Champions League’s top scorers this season, with six goals in four games.
For Nigeria, he has earned 45 caps and scored 31 goals since 2017, cementing his status as the Super Eagles’ key attacking weapon.
Many fans are expected to turn up at the stadium in Fez this Tuesday to watch a leading contender for the tournament’s Golden Boot.
Ademola Lookman – Nigeria | Atalanta
Lookman has been consistent in Serie A, featuring in 11 matches and scoring two goals this season. Since his debut in 2022, he has earned 34 caps and scored eight goals for Nigeria.
His pace, versatility and creativity makes him attractive to fans and central to Nigeria’s attacking plans, capable of unlocking stubborn defences in crucial moments.
Novatos Dismas Miroshi – Tanzania | Göztepe
The 23-year-old winger, a product of the Azam Academy, has scored three goals in 24 caps for Tanzania. Making his second AFCON appearance, Miroshi will be one of the players fans are keen to spot, bringing energy and unpredictability to the Tanzania attack, which is expected to be led by veteran forward Ally Samatta.
Allan Okello – Uganda | Vipers SC
Okello, a 25-year-old attacking midfielder for Vipers SC, already counts 35 caps and six goals for Uganda. Known for his vision and creativity, he will be pivotal in orchestrating the Cranes’ attacking play and generating opportunities in the group stage.
Paul Put can certainly place his trust in the former Paradou AC man, who returns to North Africa with a point to prove. His recent spark at CHAN 2024 — combined with two goals and two assists in six appearances in the Ugandan Premier League this season — only strengthens his case.
Hannibal Mejbri – Tunisia | Burnley
The 22-year-old midfielder has earned 39 caps and scored one goal for Tunisia. Hannibal offers energy, vision and composure in midfield, and will be a player to watch as Tunisia seeks to assert themselves in a competitive AFCON group.
