Mohammed V Stadium

Mohammed V Stadium

Located in the Maârif district of Casablanca, Mohammed V Stadium stands as one of the monuments of African football. Since its inauguration on 6 March 1955, this emblematic arena - nicknamed “Donor” by locals - has hosted some of the greatest Moroccan and continental football events.

With a current capacity of 67 000, the stadium is ready to welcome eight matches of the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025.

A historical and architectural legacy

Designed by French architect Achille Dangleterre, the stadium was first named Marcel-Cerdan Stadium after the famous French-Moroccan boxer, then became the Stadium of Honour, before adopting its current name, Mohammed V, during the 1983 Mediterranean Games.

Over the decades, it has undergone numerous renovations (1983, 2000, 2016, 2019, and 2025) to modernize its facilities, enhance spectator comfort, and meet FIFA and CAF international standards.

Today, the Mohammed V complex extends beyond the stadium itself: it includes a 15,000-seat indoor arena, a hotel, an Olympic indoor swimming pool, a 650 m² media centre, and conference, medical, and anti-doping facilities - making it a complete and modern sports centre.

A shrine for Morocco’s greatest clubs

Nicknamed “the temple of Casablanca football,” the stadium is home to Wydad AC and Raja CA, hosting their most important matches, including the famous Casablanca Derby and several Throne Cup finals. It has also hosted Morocco’s national team fixtures and major international events, cementing its place in African football history.
