The Olympic Stadium of Rabat

The Olympic Stadium of Rabat

Nestled at the heart of the Moulay-Abdellah Sports Complex, just seven kilometres from the centre of Morocco’s capital, the Olympic Stadium of Rabat embodies the Kingdom’s modernity and ambition in sports infrastructure.

With a capacity of 21,000 seats, this brand-new stadium was completed in record time: nine months of intensive construction work carried out day and night.

Its official inauguration took place on 25 May 25 2025, during the return of the prestigious Mohammed VI International Meeting, the fourth stage of the Diamond League—immediately confirming its international status.

A jewel of architecture and technology

Built to support Morocco’s rise on the global sporting stage, the Olympic Stadium of Rabat stands out for its modern and functional design.

The venue features:

·       A 400-meter athletics track, certified by World Athletics

·       A natural grass pitch, maintained to international standards

·       A crescent-shaped membrane roof, combining architectural elegance with spectator protection

·       A state-of-the-art lighting system, ensuring optimal conditions for high-level competitions, by day or by night

Spread across four levels, the stadium offers advanced facilities: underground parking, anti-doping centre, cryotherapy rooms, VIP and VVIP lounges, conference spaces, TV studios, and broadcast control rooms.

Designed to meet the requirements of major continental and global competitions, it is already among the flagship venues of the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations 2025 and is preparing for a key role during the FIFA World Cup 2030™.

A home for athletics and football

The Olympic Stadium of Rabat welcomed its first major moments in the summer of 2025.

On 28 June, the women’s national teams of Morocco and Tanzania played a historic friendly match—ushering in an unforgettable series of events during the TotalEnergies CAF Women’s AFCON 2024, including a thrilling final where Nigeria defeated Morocco 3–2.

The stadium is also a host venue for the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup 2025™.
