Uganda recovers to beat Tanzania

Uganda defeated Tanzania 4-3 victory on Monday afternoon in Saly, as the Sand Cranes found their way back in the race for the semi-finals.

Ugandan needed the recovery after losing to hosts Senegal in the opening day. They had to do so in a difficult match against their Tanzanian neighbors. In a three-team Group A, victory mattered to either team in this Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations, Senegal 2021.

A brace from Isma Kawakulo along with goals from Rica Byaruhanga and Emmanuel Alex Wasswa sealed the victory for Uganda Sand Cranes.

Jaruph Rajab scored the first two goals for Tanzania Taifa Stars, before Stephano Walles Mapunda came in to score the third.

After this setback, Tanzania will try to win its ticket when they face hosts Senegal on Wednesday, May 26. The match promises to be difficult, but anything is possible in this group A where qualification can be won by each of the three teams.

Uganda will wait for Wednesday’s result after having played its two matches.
