The countdown to Africa’s biggest football festival has begun. To mark 100 days until the kick-off of the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations, Morocco 2025, organisers have unveiled giant countdown clocks in each of the six host cities, a striking reminder to fans that the continent’s premier competition is almost here.

The clocks have been placed in Rabat, Casablanca, Fès, Tangier, Marrakech and Agadir, where tens of thousands of supporters will gather this December to welcome Africa’s finest players.

They will tick down to the much-anticipated opening match between hosts Morocco and Comoros on 21 December at 20h00 local time in Rabat, a clash that will officially launch the 35th edition of the tournament.

It will be the first time Morocco has hosted the competition since 1988, and the Kingdom is promising a world-class fan experience in some of the continent’s most iconic stadiums. Each city is expected to come alive with football fever, blending Morocco’s famous hospitality with the electric atmosphere of the African game.

The final will also be staged in Rabat on 18 January, 2026, when a new champion will lift the coveted trophy.

As the nation counts down to the start of the competition, the clocks serve as a daily reminder of the history, drama and unforgettable memories that await, while also setting the stage for Morocco’s role as co-hosts of the 2030 FIFA World Cup alongside Spain and Portugal.

The road to Morocco 2025 has entered its final stretch … and the clock is now officially ticking.
