The 2023 TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations closed with an exhilarating ceremony in Abidjan encapsulating the spirit of the tournament. A stunning light show lit up the stadium as musical legends and rising stars captivated the crowd.

Cote d'Ivoire great Didier Drogba fittingly kicked things off, his message recounting the thrills and emotions across the past month. Drogba's iconic voice set the tone for a dazzling closing showcase.

As extravagant fireworks illuminated the electric atmosphere, veteran reggae star Alpha Blondy emerged. To rapturous applause he belted out cult hits, letting the crowd sing along at times.

After the 71-year-old maestro whipped fans into a frenzy, Cote d'Ivoire's new generation took over. Contemporary icons Serge Beynaud, Roseline and Didi B had thousands dancing along.

The emerging sensations were followed by Team Paiya, whose infectious "hammer blow" song has been a tournament anthem. Their high-tempo rhythms kept energy levels soaring.

Before the stars lit up centre stage, an orchestra of 123 children captivated the stadium. Their rendition of the official "Akwaba" song created a moving prelude.

As the future talents bowed out, the present took over, lighting up the closing ceremony. Drogba's early words set the scene for a spectacle showcasing African music's past, present and future.
