Four coaches have been shortlisted by the Rwanda Football Federation (FERWAFA) for the position of Technical Director.

The quartet include Dutchman Hendrikus Pieter de Jongh, Giovanni Scanu of Italy, Frenchman Sebastien Desabre (France) and Michael Weiss of Germany, and one of them will be selected to replace Englishman Lee Johnson who resigned in April 2015.

“We received nine applicants for the position of the Technical Director, assessed their proposals before closing in on the final four. We are now in the process of making an ultimate decision to decide the capable coach fit for this position together with our main stake holder, the Ministry of Sports and Culture (MINISPOC),” said FERWAFA president Vincent Nzamwita.

The five that failed to make the cut are Adalbert Ivanov Zafirov (Bulgaria), Kiko Lopez (Spanish), Antonio Flores (Spanish-German), Drago Mamic (Croatia) and Conor Marlin (Northern Ireland).

The major tasks of the new Technical Director will include delivering and managing youth development programmes; develop and implement player analysis tools to enhance performance and support development; organize, plan, manage and deliver multiple projects to meet key performance indicators.

Former Amavubi striker Jimmy Mulisa will deputise for the yet-to-be appointed Technical Director.
