AS Monaco winger Krepin Diatta has earned his first Senegal call-up in 10 months as interim coach Pape Thiaw named a 28-man squad for their remaining 20025 TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers next week.

Diatta, who last featured for the Lions of Teranga during TotalEnergies CAF AFCON 2023 in Cote d'Ivoire, returns to the national setup for the matches against Burkina Faso and Burundi.

Thiaw has also handed first international call-ups to FC Metz striker Cheick Tidiane Sabaly and US Gorée midfielder Ibrahima Seck, while goalkeeper Edouard Mendy returns after missing the previous gathering through injury.

The already-qualified former champions, who sit second in Group L level on 10 points with leaders Burkina Faso, face the Stallions in Bamako on 14 November before hosting Burundi in Diamniadio five days later.

Captain Kalidou Koulibaly, Sadio Mane, Idrissa Gana Gueye and Nicolas Jackson are among the key players retained in Thiaw's first squad since taking interim charge from Aliou Cisse.

The Lions secured qualification on matchday four with a late 1-0 victory over Malawi through Mane's 96th-minute winner, having earlier thrashed the same opponents 4-0 at home.
