“We did everything to beat Cameroon” - Ismaila Sarr

Senegalese player, Ismaila Sarr says they put in all the effort to get the deserved win against Cameroon in their second game of the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Côte d'Ivoire 2023.
The Teranga Lions were ruthless against Cameroon on Friday evening when they faced each other at the Charles Konan Bani Stadium in Yamoussoukro.
Ismaila Sarr who scored the first goal was selected as the TotalEnergies Man of the Match after his exploit led to the win.
Sarr was excited about the result and his country’s qualification.
“I am happy with the victory over Cameroon. I remember that in 2017 we lost to Cameroon in the quarter-finals, and during this match we did everything to win. Now we will prepare for the next round in the competition,” he said.
The 25-year-old concluded that the unity amongst the team is one of the reasons why they keep winning.
“We were physically prepared for the match, and we live as one family in the national team, and this is what made us achieve the victory. We gave everything we had for this,” Sarr concluded.
