CAF GS Mosengo-Omba meets international top artist, Gims to discuss future collaborations including promoting CAF African Schools Football Championship

CAF General Secretary Véron Mosengo-Omba met with internationally acclaimed Congolese musician and singer Gims and discussed future collaborations with CAF including promoting CAF African Schools Football Championship competition and its programmes.
The CAF African Schools Football Championship, now on its fourth year, has seen over two (2) million boys and kids participate from over 46 countries in Africa..
Mosengo-Omba praised Gims’ career, describing him as a role model whose impact reaches far beyond music.
“Gims is an example for African youth. He represents an ambitious Africa that believes in its own potential,” said Mosengo-Omba.
Gims, who was born in Kinshasa and raised in France, spoke about his lifelong passion for football and the role the game played in his childhood. He underlined how football continues to shape his journey alongside music
Gims had already showed his connection to football at the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, where he performed the tournament’s official anthem Arhbo with Illsack, a moment that reinforced his status as a global cultural figure carrying Africa’s voice on the world stage.
