Aouk - Wydad's flying wing

With his speed, assists and goals, Wydad's Badie Aouk has proven himself as one of the best entertaining players in the Moroccan League “Botola” this season.

The flying winger (25) was born in Agadir where he played for the local club Hassania between 2014 and 2018. His talent attracted the attention of Casablanca giants Wydad, where he will become one of WAC key players.

Aouk has become a deadly force in Wydad games either in “Botola” or the CAF Champions League, as he made the difference in the hardest situations. His speed and dribbling techniques helped him creating a lot of problems for any opposition, being a thorn in the throat of defenders.

"He is a young and talented player who came from Hassania after his outstanding performances there in Agadir. When Ounajem left for Egypt’s Zamalek, Aouk got more opportunities to show his skills and talent. Gradually, he gained the confidence, taking advantage of his unique talent and speed,” said Moroccan football analyst and journalist Mohamed Amine Moutabar.

Aouk can display his attacking abilities in big games by scoring goals, providing assists, and chasing penalties and free kicks. Whenever he has the ball, he tries to create scoring chances. Wydad fans have noticed his hard work, commitment and fighting spirit, mainly after the arrival of his former coach at Hassania, Argentine tactician Miguel Gamondi who has been appointed as the club’s general supervisor. This has helped Aouk a lot to be a key player and make the difference in many games.

"Either on right or left wing, Aouk is doing a great job. We can now rely on him if Ismail El Hadad leaves the club", said Yassine Marousi, a devoted Wydad fan.

"Recently he has contributed to most of our victories through his goals and assists. We rely on him in the Champions League and we know that the likes of him and El Hadad can successfully lead our attacking line", added Ali Zerhouni, another Wydad supporter.

When Wydad entertains Egyptian giants Al Ahly in the 2019-20 Total CAF Champions League semifinal first leg this weekend, Aouk will be surely their man to watch.
