Draw Procedure for 2024/25 TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup Group Stage Announced

The draw procedure for the 2024/25 TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup Group Stage has been announced.

The draw will take place on Monday, 7 October 2024, in Cairo, Egypt, where the 16 qualified teams will find out their group stage opponents.

The event will commence with the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup Group Stage Draw at 13h00 Cairo time (10h00 GMT), followed by the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League Draw at 14h00 local time (11h00 GMT).

Qualified Clubs for the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup Group Stage:

CD Lunda-Sul (Angola), FC Bravos (Angola), CS Constantine (Algeria), Orapa United (Botswana), Black Bulls (Mozambique), Stellenbosch FC (South Africa), Enyimba FC (Nigeria), ASC Jaraaf (Senegal), ASEC Mimosas (Cote d’Ivoire), Stade Malien (Mali), El Masry (Egypt), CS Sfaxien (Tunisia), Zamalek SC (Egypt), RS Berkane (Morocco), Simba SC (Tanzania), USM Alger (Algeria).

Group Stage Draw Format

The teams will be divided into four pots based on their CAF rankings.

  • Pot 4 includes the lowest-seeded teams:
    • CD Lunda-Sul (Angola)
    • FC Bravos (Angola)
    • CS Constantine (Algeria)
    • Orapa United (Botswana)
    • Black Bulls (Mozambique)
    • Stellenbosch FC (South Africa)

The draw for this pot will see each team assigned to a group as follows:

·       The first ball drawn will go directly to Group A in position A4.

·       The second ball drawn will go to Group B in position B4.

·       The third ball drawn will go to Group C in position C4.

·       The fourth ball drawn will go to Group D in position D4.

·       Pot 3 consists of:

    • Enyimba FC (Nigeria)
    • ASC Jaraaf (Senegal)

The draw for Pot 3 will proceed similarly:

·       The first ball drawn will go to Group A in position C3.

·       The second ball drawn will go to Group B in position D3.

·       Pot 2 features:

    • ASEC Mimosas (Ivory Coast)
    • Stade Malien (Mali)
    • El Masry (Egypt)
    • CS Sfaxien (Tunisia)

The draw procedure for Pot 2 will follow the same format:

·       The first ball drawn will go to Group A in position A2.

·       The second ball drawn will go to Group B in position B2.

·       The third ball drawn will go to Group C in position C2.

·       The fourth ball drawn will go to Group D in position D2.

·       Pot 1, containing the highest-seeded teams, includes:

    • Zamalek SC (Egypt)
    • RS Berkane (Morocco)
    • Simba SC (Tanzania)
    • USM Alger (Algeria)

The final draw for Pot 1 will assign teams as follows:

  • The first ball drawn will go to Group A in position A1.
  • The second ball drawn will go to Group B in position B1.
  • The third ball drawn will go to Group C in position C1.
  • The fourth ball drawn will go to Group D in position D1.
