Singida Black Stars stun Tusker with away victory, Durban City beat Port Louis to take control of tie
Tanzania's Singida Black Stars took a significant step towards the group stage of the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup 2026/27 after securing a valuable 1-0 away victory over Kenya's Tusker FC in the first leg of their Second Preliminary Round tie on Sunday.
Jeancy Mboma scored the decisive goal in the 52nd minute to hand the Tanzanian visitors a crucial advantage ahead of the return fixture.
The breakthrough came seven minutes after half-time, with Mboma finding the net to put Singida Black Stars ahead in the East African encounter.

Tusker were unable to find an equaliser as the visitors protected their slender lead to secure an important victory on Kenyan soil.
The result leaves Singida Black Stars in a strong position to qualify for the group stage, with the Tanzanian side needing to protect their advantage in the second leg.
The Kenyan club must now overturn the deficit in Tanzania to keep their continental ambitions alive, while Singida Black Stars will be aiming to complete the job and secure a place among the competition's final 16 teams.
Durban City beat Port Louis to take control of tie
South Africa's Durban City secured a 3-1 home victory over Mauritius' AS Port Louis 2000 in the first leg of their tie on Sunday.
Goals from Haashim Domingo, Gaston Sirino and Tashreeq Morris gave the South African side a two-goal advantage ahead of next weekend's return fixture.
Durban City made a strong start, taking the lead in the 15th minute when Domingo converted after Alou Doumbia had directed Siphamandla Ncanana's cross back into the penalty area.
The hosts doubled their advantage immediately after half-time as Sirino scored from a tight angle in the 46th minute.
However, Port Louis responded in the 53rd minute through Louis Roussety, who capitalised on a mistake by goalkeeper Frederic Asare to reduce the deficit.
The visitors' goal briefly threatened Durban City's advantage, but the South African club continued to create opportunities.
Jean Lubumba missed a chance to restore the two-goal cushion when he failed to convert from close range late in the match.
Substitute Morris eventually sealed the victory with a stoppage-time penalty after a foul inside the area.
The result leaves Durban City in a strong position to reach the group stage, while Port Louis must overturn the deficit in Mauritius to keep their continental campaign alive.
