TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup clubs step closer to next round as preliminary ties take shape

The race for progression in the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup continued on Saturday as clubs battled across the continent in the return legs of the preliminary round.

Tusker secured their place in the next round with a 1-0 victory over Al-Ahli Wad Medani, completing a 3-2 aggregate success. Kitara also advanced after a 2-0 win over Mogadishu City saw them progress 4-1 on aggregate.

Black Bulls held Atomi Ngome to a goalless draw to complete a 1-0 aggregate victory, while Zarzis progressed despite a 1-0 defeat to Diambars, advancing 3-2 on aggregate.

ZED also booked their place in the next round after a 1-1 draw against Ali Sabieh. Having won the first leg 4-0, the Egyptian side progressed 5-1 on aggregate.

Rayon Sports were held to a goalless draw by Panthère but advanced after the tie finished 1-1 on aggregate, with the Rwandan side progressing on the away-goals rule.

Hilal Alsahil completed a 3-1 aggregate victory over Welwalo Adigrat after securing a 1-0 win in the return leg.

More TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup action takes place on Sunday, 13 September, with the remaining return-leg fixtures set to determine which clubs will continue their pursuit of continental honours.
