TotalEnrgies CAF Futsal AFCON: Ricardo Inuguez admits Morocco will be difficult
Libya coach Ricardo Inuguez has admitted the Mediterranean Knights will face a tough Moroccan side when they play in the semifinals of the TotalEnergies CAF Futsal AFCON.
The North African derby is scheduled for 21:00 GMT at the magnificent Prince Moulay Abdellah Hall on Friday, 19 April.
The 2008 champions finished as runners-up in Group B with 6 points behind Egypt who won all their group matches.
"We will face one of the best teams in the world and our objective is to be competitive," said Ricardo. "It's going to be a difficult match against a very good team but we have be focus and make sure we ready to take our chances when we have them."
Libya beat Namibia 11-5 in their last group match to secure a place in the last four of the competition which also serves as the qualifying tournament for the FIFA Futsal World Cup.
"Reaching the semifinals is very important as it gives us the opportunity of reaching the World Cup. We can still qualify for the World Cup with a third place finish but we have to be competitive against a difficult opponent," said the spaniard.
Libya star Mohamed Suleiman Ghaeb says the Futsal has improved a lot in Africa whilst comparing the 7th edition to the previous tournaments.
"The level of Futsal is improving in Africa and there's a lot of difference between the last editions and this one," said the Al Ittihad ace.
"Our preparation for this match is linked to the quality of Morocco as they are one of the best teams of the tournament and have to be focused. We will do our best to qualify for the final against a very good team so our focus it on the semifinal."
