African Champions Mamelodi Sundowns and USM Alger set for TotalEnergies CAF Super Cup in Pretoria, South Africa on Sunday

African Club Champions Mamelodi Sundowns will host Algeria’s USM Alger  at Loftus Stadium in Tshwane (Pretoria), South Africa on Sunday, 8 November in what is expected to be a thrilling TotalEnergies CAF Super Cup 2026.

The match will kick-off at 15h00 local time (13h00 GMT).

The eagerly anticipated encounter brings together two of the continent's most successful clubs in recent years, with South Africa’s Sundowns enjoying Super Cup success in 2017 and USM Alger from Algeria lifting the trophy in 2023.

Mamelodi Sundowns won the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League in the 2025/26 season and USM Alger claimed the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup as they clash in an Interclub showdown that will see the winner take home USD 500,000 and the runner-up USD 250,000.

The total of USD 750,000 represents an increase of more than 130% on the prize money available in 2022 and reflects CAF's continued commitment, under the leadership of President Dr Patrice Motsepe, to strengthening the commercial value and global appeal of African Football.

Sundowns qualified for the showpiece fixture after claiming their second TotalEnergies CAF Champions League title in May, defeating Morocco's AS FAR 2-1 on aggregate in the final.

They will now be seeking to repeat their success in the TotalEnergies CAF Super Cup in 2017, when they defeated DR Congo's TP Mazembe 1-0.

USM Alger arrive in South Africa after securing a second TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup crown. The Algerian club defeated Egypt's Zamalek 8-7 on penalties following a dramatic two-legged final that finished 1-1 on aggregate.

That victory added to their maiden Confederation Cup triumph in 2023, a year in which they also captured the TotalEnergies CAF Super Cup with a memorable 1-0 victory over Egyptian giants Al Ahly.

The two clubs have met twice previously in CAF competition, with Sundowns winning both encounters during the group stage of the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League 2019/20.

The South Africans recorded a 1-0 victory in Algiers before completing the double with a 2-1 home success.
