Chaâbani trusts team spirit to deliver Berkane TotalEnergies CAF Super Cup Glory
RS Berkane head coach Mouin Chaâbani struck a confident tone ahead of the TotalEnergies CAF Super Cup clash, backing his side to overcome injury setbacks and upset Pyramids FC when the two teams face off at the 30 June Stadium in Cairo on Saturday evening.
Despite a number of key absences, the Moroccan side is banking on its trademark collective strength and winning mentality—qualities honed through years of continental success.
The once-off final pits the champions of last season’s CAF Interclub competitions against each other, as first-time TotalEnergies CAF Champions League winners Pyramids FC meet three-time TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup champions RS Berkane under the lights in the Egyptian capital.
“We have some important absences due to injuries, but like last season, our strength is in our and regrouping,” said Chaâbani during his pre-match press conference.
“We fully trust the players who are available for the game.”
Saturday’s showdown promises to be a high-stakes North African derby, and Chaâbani was quick to remind everyone of his team’s experience and pedigree on the continental stage.
“We are not new to the Super Cup. We won it before, won the Confederation Cup three times, and also won the Moroccan league last season, so it won’t be a surprise if we win tomorrow,” he added.
Joining his coach at the pre-match briefing, attacking midfielder Yassine Labhiri expressed optimism about his side’s chances and the spirit of the occasion.
“It is going to be a classic between two North African sides. Hopefully, it will be held in a brotherly atmosphere.
“We hope to rise to the challenge and win it for our fans,” said the experienced playmaker.
With confidence, cohesion, and continental credentials on their side, RS Berkane head into Saturday’s final looking to add another historic chapter to their growing legacy in African football.
