RS Berkane’s left-back, Hamza El Moussaoui, has expressed his ambition to lead his team to the TotalEnergies CAF Super Cup 2025 title, aiming for a historic treble after the Moroccan side claimed both the Botola Pro League and the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup last season.

El Moussaoui acknowledged the tough challenge awaiting his team in the Super Cup final on Saturday, 18 October, against Egypt’s Pyramids FC, but remains confident that his teammates know exactly what it takes to lift the trophy.

In this exclusive interview with CAFOnline.com, the RS Berkane captain shares the secrets behind his club’s recent continental success and speaks about the team’s mindset ahead of the big final.

CAFOnline.com: Hamza, how are you and how is the team’s preparation for the TotalEnergies CAF Super Cup 2025 final?

Hamza El Moussaoui: Peace be upon you. Thank you. Our preparations are going very well. The atmosphere within the team is extremely positive, and every player is fully focused on this major occasion and aiming for a good result - God willing.

You’ll be facing Pyramids FC, one of Egypt’s rising clubs. How do you view this match?

Pyramids FC is among the top teams in Africa, but RS Berkane has also proven over the past decade that we are one of the continent’s elite. We respect our opponents, but we have the quality and experience to compete at the highest level.

In your opinion, what will be the keys to victory in a final like the TotalEnergies CAF Super Cup?

Finals are always decided by small details. The team that stays most disciplined, focused, and attentive to the coach’s instructions will ultimately be crowned champions.

The final will be played in Egypt, and once again your opponents are from there. Will that serve as extra motivation for you to win the title for the second time in the club’s history?

Yes, it’s true — the match will be played in Egypt, and it’s not the first time we’ve faced an Egyptian side in a final. But that only adds to our motivation. We’ll travel there with strong determination and a clear goal: to bring the trophy back to Morocco.

RS Berkane continues to shine on the continental stage and has established itself among Africa’s top clubs. What’s the secret behind this success?

The key lies in stability and hard work. The club has built a strong foundation over the years — a clear project, a committed management team, and a group of players who give their all. That’s what allowed RS Berkane to grow and compete with the best.

After winning both the Moroccan league and the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup, are you now targeting a historic treble?

Absolutely. Winning the league and the CAF Confederation Cup gave us great confidence. Now, our goal is to add the CAF Super Cup to our collection and make history. Every player dreams of starting a new season with a title — it gives you the perfect boost for an exceptional year.

What message does your coach, Moïne Chaâbani, give you before crucial matches like this?

Coach Chaâbani always emphasizes discipline and tactical focus. He reminds us that major finals are decided by fine margins and by those who stick to the game plan from start to finish.

Finally, what message do you have for RS Berkane fans ahead of the final?

To all our fans: your support means everything. We hope to see many of you in Egypt — your presence will inspire us to fight even harder. We promise to give our all to make you proud and to bring joy to all Moroccans. Thank you for always standing by us.
