Ousmane Camara has dedicated his Man of the Match Trophy from their 2-1 win over Mali in the third-place play-off at the TotalEnergies U17 Africa Cup of Nations on Thursday to the people of Burkina Faso.

Camara dazzled in the game with a goal and an assist to help the team secure a bronze medal from Algeria, and leave with their heads high.

“I am delighted to have been named man of the match in this game. It was really difficult and everyone gave their best. It is a huge honor for me to have this award and I want to dedicate it to the people of Burkina Faso,” the forward stated.

Camara scored from a penalty in the opening half before laying the ball on a platter for Apollinaire Bougma to score the second and seal the bronze for the Burkinabe.

Camara was playing his fourth game at the tournament, but ensured he left with an indelible mark.

“As a team we are delighted to earn a bronze medal. It was not an easy match. Now we will try and focus to prepare for the World Cup,” he added.
