Mark Fish, Herita Ilunga, Miller Gomes and Kamel Kolsi face the media on Monday for a technical and tactical analysis of the TotalEnergies CAF U-17 AFCON

Ahead of the semi-finals of the TotalEnergies CAF Under-17 Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025, the Technical Study Group (TSG) will hold a press conference on Monday, April 14 at 14:00 at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium in Casablanca.

This session will bring together four African football figures and members of the CAF TSG to share their observations, analyses and perspectives on the development of youth football on the continent.

 

SPEAKERS

Herita IlungaA former Congolese international, who played for Saint-Étienne, Toulouse and West Ham, Herita Ilunga is known for her tactical rigour and commitment to training on the continent. He brings a sharp expertise on the progression of young players in Africa. Today he is involved in several initiatives related to the development of grassroots football, campaigns for a better structuring of training courses and an increased professionalization of the technical staff. 

Kamel KolsiFormer Tunisian international and former U-20 coach, Kamel Kolsi has established himself as a fine analyst of the collective dynamics and mechanisms of play within national teams. His expertise ranges from the detection of young talent to tactical analysis. Renowned for his rigor and his ability to decipher the technical systems of teams in training, he has contributed to the emergence of several promising generations in Tunisia. 

João Cláudio De Almeida "Miller" GomesFormer Angola U-20 and U-23 coach and former assistant coach of the senior national team, Miller Gomes is a key figure in Portuguese-speaking football on the continent. With a long experience in training, he has managed several youth teams and contributed to the emergence of many Angolan talents. A rigorous observer and a recognized instructor, he relies on a method combining tactical rigor and a detailed understanding of local contexts.

Mark Fish South African legend and TotalEnergies CAF AFCON, South Africa 1996 winner, Mark Fish has established himself as a respected mentor to younger generations. His participation aims to strengthen thinking about the mind, resilience and leadership of the U-17s. A former defender who played for the Orlando Pirates, Lazio and Bolton Wanderers, he now puts his experience at the service of educational and sporting projects focused on young people.
