Congo U20 coach Madienguela - 'We achieved our goal'
**Congo coach Marie Joseph Madienguela says qualifying for the quarter-finals of the TotalEnergies U-20 Africa Cup of Nations was the target when they faced the Central African Republic in Cairo. **
The Group B clash failed to produce a goal on Sunday as they settled for a goalless stalemate which booked Congo a place in the last eight.
The Red Devils finished the group stages levelled with Uganda on 5 points before the drawing of lots secured Uganda first place.
"Today's match was difficult. We faced a very strong team and we tried to score goals but we were unlucky," Madienguela said.
"We did our best but this is football. If you do not score, you will not qualify but in the end we achieved our goal.
"It was a very strong match and we wanted to score goals, but in the end the match ended in a draw.
"I don't like this result, but as I said, the most important thing is that we achieved the biggest goal, which is to qualify."
