FIFA U-20 World Cup: Morocco reach the semi-finals

Morocco made a strong statement with a 3–1 victory over the United States in the quarter-finals of the FIFA U-20 World Cup, Chile 2025™.  

From the start, the Americans pressed high and dominated possession, but the Moroccan defense held firm and struck with clinical efficiency when it mattered.

Othmane Maamma perfectly set up Yassir Zabiri, who opened the scoring in the 31st minute.

Just before halftime, Cole Campbell converted a penalty (45’+6) to equalize. But the Lions did not waver.

From a corner, Zabiri forced Joshua Wynder into a mistake, leading to an own goal (66’), before Gessime Yassine sealed the victory in the 87th minute.

The TotalEnergies CAF U-20 Africa Cup of Nations runners-up will face either France in the semi-finals of the tournament.
