'There are no small teams' - Gambia U20 winger Salifu Colley
Young Scorpions playmaker Salifu Colley produced a dominant Man of the Match performance in Gambia's 1-0 victory over Benin in the TotalEnergies U-20 Africa Cup of Nations.
The Real de Banjul star was handed his start of the tournament in the final Group C match for the WAFU-A runners-up.
Coach Abdoulie Bojang made ten changes to his side with Colley coming in to put his marker for the two-time bronze medalists.
"It is an honor for me to be named the Man of the Match," Colley said.
"It is the work of the whole group that has been recognised. We are realizing the dreams of the Gambian people.
"We must continue to listen to the instructions of the coach," Salifu said.
The Gambia will face debutants South Sudan in the TotalEnergies U-20 Africa Cup of Nations quarter finals on Friday and Colley is not being carried away.
"There are no more small teams. We want to play the World Cup," the Real de Banjul star said.
"We will fight for the goal and I am very happy for our coach."
