CAF meets players and coaches of Group A clubs in Women's Champions League in Rabat

Just as in Marrakech, CAF brought together the coaches and players of Group A of the Champions League in Rabat, the capital of Morocco.

Present were Simba Queens coach Charles Lukola accompanied by Joelle Bukuru, Patience Gwah and Magaret Steward represented Determine Girls, Charles Haalubono and Joana Benai flied the colours of Green Buffaloes and AS FAR were represented by Mohamed Amin Alioua and his goalkeeper Khadija Er-Rmichi.

The purpose of this meeting was to chat the progress of women's football on the continent but also the challenges it faces.

After a short presentation by Meskerem Tadesse Goshime, head of the Women's Football Development Department at the Confederation of African Football.

“We need you” launched Goshime, before supporting her presentation with slides.

Since 2018, the date of the creation of the department linked to the development of women's football on the continent, the apex body of African football has continued to highlight the progress made by the actors and actresses of this compartment of football.

“The Women's Africa Cup of Nations has gone from 8 teams to 12. In July, the poster for the final was completely new and we had a new champion: South Africa. We broke attendance records. Proof that women's football in Africa is attractive”.

At the end of this presentation, each coach and player had the right to individual interviews. A face to face where the players and the coaches delivered themselves in all sincerity.
