CAF unveils Team of the Tournament for the TotalEnergies CAF Women's Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2026

Following several weeks of outstanding individual performances at the TotalEnergies CAF Women's Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Morocco 2026, the official Team of the Tournament has been revealed as selected by the Technical Study Group for the tournament.

Set up in a 4-3-3 formation, the selection features 11 players from five nations who stood out for their consistency, influence and impact on their teams' performances throughout the competition.

In goal, Michaely Bihina (Cameroon) earns her place after an impressive tournament in which she was also named Best Goalkeeper.

The defence features Inès Belloumou (Algeria), Nouhaila Benzina (Morocco), Myriam Nyadjou (Cameroon) and Hanane Ait El Haj (Morocco).

The midfield trio is made up of Marine Dafeur (Algeria), Monique Ngock (Cameroon) and Temwa Chawinga (Malawi), while the attacking line features Tabitha Chawinga (Malawi), Barbra Banda (Zambia) and Marie Ngah Manga (Cameroon).

At the heart of the selection is Ngock, whose performances for Cameroon earned her the Best Player award.

Her compatriot Nyajdou was named Best Young Player of the Tournament. The 19-year-old established herself as one of the standout young talents of the competition.

For Malawi, Temwa Chawinga underlined her status as one of the continent's leading attacking players. With five goals and two assists, she finished as the tournament's top scorer.

Cameroon coach Valentine Nguele was named Coach of the Tournament after guiding her side through an impressive campaign.

Cameroon have the most representatives in the Team of the Tournament with four players, followed by Morocco, Algeria and Malawi with two each. Zambia complete the selection with Barbra Banda.
