Introducing the TotalEnergies CAF Women's Africa Cup of Nations Technical Study Group (TSG) 2026 

They do not score goals, make tackles or appear on the match sheets. Yet, their perspective is one of the most valuable at the TotalEnergies CAF Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) 2026 in Morocco.  

At every match, the members of the Technical Study Group (TSG) scrutinize every detail - tactical choices, coaches' adjustments, individual performances, team formations and emerging trends in African Women's Football. 

True observers of the game, these experts are present throughout the competition. Their analysis informs CAF's technical reports, contribute to the selection of individual awards and provides in-depth insights into the evolution of Women's Football on the continent. 

The TSG brings together former national team coaches, renowned technical experts, CAF and FIFA instructors and performance analysis specialists. They all share the same mission - to decode the game, highlight tactical innovations and contribute through their expertise to the development of African Women's Football. 

Here is an overview of the personalities who make up the TSG for the WAFCON 2026.  

Belhassen Malouche, Tunisia - Vice President of the CAF Technical Committee 

At the Head of the TSG for the WAFCON 2026, Tunisian Belhassen Malouche brings exceptional expertise sharpened over more than two decades. A regional technical consultant for FIFA since 2018, this seasoned strategist has collaborated closely since 2004 with the highest levels of world football; from CAF to the AFC. The former National Technical Director of Tunisia, who won the AFCON under his leadership in 2004, was also at the helm of the technical departments of the Jordan and United Arab Emirates federations. Drawing on his experience at Al Jazira and on FIFA's continental development projects, he embodies the excellence of African tactical analysis. 

Clémentine Touré - Côte d’Ivoire 

Winner of the WAFCON 2008 with Equatorial Guinea, Clémentine Touré is one of the most respected coaches on the African continent. The first female coach to attain the CAF Pro License, Touré has extensive experience gained at the helm of several national teams and top clubs. A former coach of Côte d’Ivoire, she has made a significant contribution to the development of Women's Football thanks to her tactical expertise and her coaching skills. At the helm of AS Yopougon FC, she won numerous national titles as well as continental successes, confirming her status as a leading coach. Also recognized as a CAF Instructor and Technical Expert in Women's Football, the Ivorian now dedicates her expertise to coach education and the development of the game in Africa. Her career, marked by excellence and innovation, makes her an influential voice in the development of Women's Football on the continent. 

Jacqueline Shipanga - Namibia 

A pioneer of Namibian Women's Football, Jacqueline Shipanga has established herself as one of the most influential figures in the development of the beautiful game in Southern Africa. Holding a CAF A Licence coaching certificate, she managed the Namibian women's national team after coaching several youth teams, playing a pivotal role in the development of numerous international players. Her career demonstrates a consistent commitment to structuring Women's Football through technical responsibilities, development programs and coach education. A CAF instructor and renowned educator, she uses her expertise to share knowledge and raise the standards of African Football. With experience spanning both grassroot and elite levels, Shipanga embodies a sustainable vision of development based on training, technical excellence and mentoring the next generation. 

Shilene Booysen - South Africa  

At the crossroads of performance analysis, training and technical management, Shilene Booysen has forged a solid reputation in African Women's Football. Holding a CAF A Coaching License, the South African notably managed the South Sudanese women's national team between 2021 and 2023 before taking the reins at Wadi Degla SC, one of Egypt's most prestigious clubs. Her career is also marked by her time with the Banyana Banyana technical staff where she held positions as a Performance Analyst and Technical Expert. She has been involved in several FIFA development projects. 

Lamia Boumehdi - Morocco 

Lamia Boumehdi has established herself as an essential reference in continental and international coaching. Holder of the CAF A Coaching License, she embodies tactical excellence and rigour at the highest level. Her career is marked by major successes. At the head of TP Mazembe between 2023–2025, she made history by winning the CAF Women's Champions League in 2024. In Morocco, after a stint at Wydad AC, she led the national youth teams - U17 and U20 before coaching the senior national team in 2020.  

Today, the coach is taking a new step internationally. She serves as coach of the Jordan women's national team, while also supervising all of the Jordanian women's selections. Also a CAFapproved instructor and Technical Expert, Boumehdi continues to put her strategic vision at the service of the overall development of Women's Football. 

 Bernadette Anong A Zang – Cameroon  

An essential figure in the African Football landscape, Cameroonian Bernadette Anong A Zang is a major figure in training and tactics. Holder of the CAF A ​​Coaching License, she has been putting her expertise at the service of the development of Women's Football for years. Her experience at the highest international level is impressive. As assistant coach of the Cameroon women's national team, she took part in two FIFA Women's World Cups, one World Cup play-off and four WAFCON finals. On the national level, she successfully managed five Cameroonian clubs, including several elite teams. 

Beyond the bench, her impact is institutional. She is a CAF Elite instructor and a member of the CAF TSG, actively involved in the training of coaches. Today, she puts all this experience at the service of young people by occupying the position of head coach at the DJA Sport Academy. 

Leah Sweetness Masango - South Africa 

South African Leah Sweetness Masango is a recognized specialist in technique and training. Holder of the CAF A Coaching License, she has built a rich and diversified career, combining field and strategic management. Her coaching experience was forged at the heart of the university network and South African clubs. She has held the positions of head and assistant coach at the University of Johannesburg, assistant coach at the University of the Western Cape, as well as at the Rand Afrikaans University. At club level, she brought her vision as Technical Director of Coal City Wizards FC and Technical Manager for the SAFA Mpumalanga Province. 

A major stakeholder in transfer of knowledge, she regularly acts as an instructor and trainer educator for SAFA and CAF. Today, she is taking a major regional step by serving as technical development manager for the COSAFA zone - Technical Development Manager, where she orchestrates the growth of football throughout southern Africa.
