The TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, Morocco 2024 Qualifiers continued on Thursday, 30 November as nations push towards a place in Africa’s most sought-after women’s football competition.

Reigning champions, South Africa were frustrated by Burkina Faso away from home who held them to a 1-1 stalemate while Tanzania, Tunisia, Nigeria, Algeria, Mali and Senegal secured victories at home.

TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, Morocco 2024 Qualifiers round-up:

Tanzania 3-0 Togo

Tanzania seem to enjoy playing against West African opposition. After eliminating Cote d’Ivoire in the previous round, they have now edged Togo 3-0 in the first leg at home to set up what should be a comfortable away trip.

Tunisia 5-2 Congo

A hat-trick for Salma Zemzem along with singular strikes by Meriem Houij and Sabrine Ellouzi ensured Tunisia an impressive 5-2 victory at home over Congo. They will be wary of a leaky defense when travelling to Congo for the return leg.

Nigeria 5-0 Cape Verde

The most successful nation in the competition showed class and experience with a comfortable 5-0 victory over Cape Verde at home. The result practically gives Nigeria one foot into the competition in Morocco, the land where they lost their title to South Africa.

Burkina Faso 1-1 South Africa

After Hildah Magaia’s 56th minute strike, the defending champions seemed to be well on course for an away victory until Yasso Konate levelled matters in what was a frustrating afternoon for the South Africans. The result gives Burkina Faso a glimmer of hope ahead of the return leg in South Africa next week.

Senegal 4-0 Egypt

A Mama Moussa Cisse led side comfortably cruised past Egypt in with an easy 4-0 win.

An opener by Marieme Babou in the 26th minute which was immediately followed by Nguenar Ndiaye saw the Egyptian dejected ahead of the break before the Lionesses of Teranga finished the job in the second half with Hapsatou Malado Diallo and Mbayang Sow sealed the 4-0 victory.

In the other matches, Algeria crushed Burundi 5-1 at home while Mali inflicted 7-1 defeat over Guinea.
