ASEC Mimosas seal semi-final place with emphatic win over Gaborone United
ASEC Mimosas completed the job in style to top Group B and reach the semi-finals of the TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Champions League with a 4-0 victory over Botswana’s Gaborone United on Saturday.
The Ivorians, who needed a draw to qualify, removed all doubt with a brace apiece from Ami Diallo and Habibou Ouedraogo to finish on seven points from three matches and advance as group winners.
Title holders TP Mazembe joined them in the last four after beating JKT Queens 4-1 to end second on six points.

Diallo broke the deadlock on 30 minutes, turning in Ouedraogo’s cut-back.
She doubled the lead three minutes after the restart, finishing a sweeping move to put ASEC firmly in control.
Gaborone United, still searching for their first goal at the finals, battled to stay in the contest but were undone late on by ASEC’s pace and depth.
Ouedraogo struck twice at the death, first on 84 minutes and again in stoppage time, to complete a commanding display and secure top spot for the debutants from Côte d’Ivoire.

The result means ASEC become the first Ivorian club to reach the Women’s Champions League semi-finals and the fifth West African side to make the last four in the competition’s history.
They will take strong momentum into the knockouts after an opening-day win over Mazembe and a draw with JKT Queens.
ASEC now turn their focus to the semi-finals, carrying the confidence of a landmark qualification and a forward line in clinical form.
