CAF Women’s Champions League 2025: Team of the group stage announced
The group stage of the CAF Women’s Champions League 2025 lived up to the highly expected quality of CAF’s premier African women’s football competition.
With 29 goals scored — surpassing the 22 goals registered at the same stage in 2024 — this edition once again underlines the accelerating rise of women’s football across Africa.
Following the conclusion of the group phase, the CAF Technical Study Group (TSG) has unveiled its Team of the Group Stage, highlighting the most consistent and influential performers so far.
A Rock-Solid defence led by revelation Habiba Emad Sabry

In goals, FC Masar’s Habiba Emad Sabry Mohamed was exceptional throughout. Calm under pressure and brilliant in crucial moments, she established herself as one of the tournament’s standout goalkeepers.
The defensive line blends power, discipline, and experience:
· Oumou Traoré (USFAS Bamako) anchors the right flank, combining clean defensive interventions with purposeful forward runs.
· At the heart of defence, Noura Diarra (ASEC Mimosas) impressed with her composure and reading of the game.

· Alongside her, Nouhaila Benzina (AS FAR) brought physical presence and impeccable timing, ensuring defensive stability for the Moroccan champions.

· On the left, Portia Boakye (TP Mazembe) contributed with tremendous work rate, equally reliable in shutting down her side and supporting attacking transitions.

A Dominant Midfield Driving the Tournament’s Top Performances
The midfield trio features balance in attack, defence and creativity:
· Marlene Kasaj Yav (TP Mazembe) has been one of the tournament’s standout figures, combining physical strength with intelligent distribution.
· Zineb Erroudany (AS FAR) adds composure, control and an excellent sense of rhythm, dictating play from deep positions.
· Operating ahead of them, Najat Badri (AS FAR) shone as one of the group stage’s most influential playmakers. Her vision, passing accuracy, and movement consistently elevated AS FAR’s attacking play.
An Explosive Attack Led by FC Masr and ASEC Mimosas
The attacking line brings together three dynamic profiles capable of transforming any match:
· Hasnath Ubamba (FC Masr), electric on the left wing, repeatedly unsettled opposing defences with her pace and dribbling.
· On the right, Yassmin Mohamid Abdelaziz Hassanin (FC Masr) combined speed, directness, and clinical decision-making in the final third.
· Leading the line, Habibou Ouedraogo (ASEC Mimosas) emerged as the tournament’s most dangerous striker, rewarded for her sharp finishing and ability to create separation in crucial areas.
Coach of the group stage: Siaka Traoré
Guiding an ASEC Mimosas team that impressed with discipline, fluidity, and collective cohesion, Siaka Traoré has been named Coach of the Group Stage.
His tactical clarity and ability to maintain his team’s momentum were key to their unbeaten run.
With the knockout rounds approaching, the performances highlighted in this Team of the Group Stage promise an exciting continuation to a competition that continues to elevate the women’s game across the continent.
