CAF Women’s Champions League: Ampem Darkoa hit five in convincing victory
Ampem Darkoa Ladies recorded an emphatic 5-1 victory over USFAS Bamako on Monday at the Suez Canal Stadium in Ismailia, in the second matchday of the CAF Women’s Champions League Egypt 2026.
The Ghanaian side produced an impressive attacking display to secure their first victory of the competition.
After a closely contested opening, it was the Malian side who struck first through Oumou Koné in the 11th minute, giving USFAS Bamako an early lead. However, Ampem Darkoa responded quickly.
Angelina Yeboah restored parity in the 28th minute before Patricia Agyei put the Ghanaian side ahead three minutes later, in the 31st minute. Having surrendered their early advantage, USFAS struggled to contain their opponents' attacking threat.
Ampem Darkoa continued where they had left off after the interval. Yeboah, who had already found the net in the first half, completed her brace in the 79th minute to put her side firmly in control.
The closing stages turned into a convincing display of attacking football. Beline Nyarkoh extended the advantage in the 83rd minute before Nancy Amoh completed the scoring in stoppage time, netting in the 90th+4 minute.
The 5-1 victory takes Ampem Darkoa to the top of Group B and strengthens their ambitions in the 2026 edition. USFAS Bamako, meanwhile, will need a swift response to keep their hopes of reaching the semi-finals alive.
