CAF Women’s Champions League: AS FAR thrash USFAS to revive semi-final hopes

AS FAR returned to winning ways in emphatic fashion after recording a commanding 6-0 victory over USFAS Bamako on Thursday in their Matchday Two encounter of the CAF Women’s Champions League Egypt 2026.

The Moroccan side took control from the opening stages, producing a dominant performance to claim their first victory of the campaign and keep their semi-final ambitions alive.

Playing in a 3-4-3 formation, AS FAR imposed their rhythm from the outset against a USFAS side set up in a 4-4-2 formation. The Moroccan champions were organised defensively and effective in possession, allowing their opponents very little room to create opportunities.

AS FAR controlled the midfield through Youssoufi, Chebbak, Lahmari and Foster, while their defensive line, led by goalkeeper Khadija Er-Rmichi, enjoyed a relatively quiet afternoon.

Touriss was among the standout performers, scoring twice to help inspire the convincing victory. Benzina, El Madani, Tagnaout and Leftah also found the net as AS FAR produced an impressive attacking display.

USFAS Bamako struggled to contain the Moroccan side throughout the encounter and were unable to find a response, experiencing difficulties at both ends of the pitch.

The victory keeps AS FAR in contention for a place in the semi-finals, with the defending champions now facing a decisive final group-stage encounter against Ghanaian side Ampem Darkoa on Sunday.

A victory in that fixture would secure their passage to the last four.
