CAF Women's Champions League qualifiers UNAF qualifiers kick off on Thursday

The CAF Women's Champions League UNAF region qualifiers officially kick off on Thursday, 24 August in the Egyptian city of Alexandria, with the final scheduled for Wednesday, 30 August.
A total of four clubs from Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia and Algeria will each represent their country in the week-long competition for the ultimate prize of qualifying for the CAF Women’s Champions League, Cote d’Ivoire 2023 in November this year.
The four participating teams include Algeria’s Afaq Gulizane, Morocco’s Sporting Casablanca, Wadi Degla of Egypt and Tunisia’s, Sousse who will each play each other in a round robin format to determine the competition winner.
Speaking at the technical meeting and official launch of the competition held in Alexandria, UNAF President, Abdul Hakim Al-Shalmani officially welcomed the participating clubs and wished them the best of luck.
The Alexandria Stadium will host the opening matches on 24 August which will see Gulizane and Sporting Casablanca at 17h00 local time before Wadi Degla takes on Sousse at 20h00.
The rest of the week will then see the teams facing each other in what promises to be an action packed week of women’s football in the UNAF region.
The UNAF region currently holds the CAF Women’s Champions League trophy, following Morocco’s AS Far’s historic clinching of the title from South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns in Rabat last season.
