Everything you need to know about the UNIFFAC Women's Champions League qualifiers

From August 19 to 23, Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo, will host the UNIFFAC tournament, which serves as the qualifying rounds for the 2024 CAF Women's Champions League.

Stadiums

The matches will take place at two venues in Kinshasa: Stade des Martyrs and Stade Tata Raphaël.

Tournament Format

The four teams will compete in a mini-league format where each victory earns three points, a draw earns one point, and a loss yields zero points. The team that finishes at the top of the standings will represent the UNIFFAC zone in the 2024 CAF Women's Champions League.

Team Profiles

TP Mazembe (DR Congo)

The women's section of TP Mazembe, based in Lubumbashi, was established on September 28, 2020. Shortly after its creation, the "Corbelles" made a name for themselves by winning the Lubumbashi and Haut-Katanga championships in 2021. Their regional dominance quickly translated to national success, with three Democratic Republic of Congo Championships to their name. Despite winning the 2022 UNIFFAC edition, they were unable to progress past the group stage of the CAF Women's Champions League.

Lékié FF (Cameroon)

Based in Obala, Lékié Football Filles entered the top division in 2022 and finished 7th. In 2023, Lékié FF secured their first title by winning the Cameroon Championship, completing a double by also lifting the Cameroon Women's Cup that same year.

CSM Diables Noirs (Congo)

The women's section of CSM Diables Noirs, headquartered in Brazzaville, Republic of Congo, was founded in 2020. The year 2023 marked a milestone for the Brazzaville-based team as they clinched their first national title, defeating AC Colombe.

Atlético de Malabo (Equatorial Guinea)

Atlético de Malabo is a women's football team based in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea. They compete in the Equatoguinean Women's Primera División, the highest level of women's football in the country. During the 2023-24 season, Atlético Malabo was declared the champion of Equatorial Guinea after Huracanes fielded an ineligible player in a decisive match.
