Huracanes conquers UNIFFAC to complete 2023 CAFWCL final eight

Huracanes drubbed Epah Ngamba 5-1 at the Estadio de Malabo, on Thursday to claim a spot in the final eight of the 2023 CAF women's Champions League finals.
Two wins, six points, 8 goals scored and a 100% record propelled defiant Huracanes to the CAF women's Champions  League finals after emerging queens of the Union of Football Federation of Central Africa (UNIFFAC) zone.
Considered the dark horses from the onset, Huracanes dethroned Congolese giants, TP Mazembe to the gargantuan feat. 
The Equatorial Guinea women's premiership champions started their campaign in fine form, defeating outgoing champions Mazembe - 3-2  in the opener. 
TP Mazembe Ladies settled on the launchpad after a 2-0 win over  Congolese rivals Epah Ngamba, but fate had flown out of the hands of the two-time DR Congo women's championship winners. 
The stage was set for coach Rondo Severino and his ladies to emerge champions albeit a win over Epah Ngamba, and the tournament hosts made no mistakes about it.
Tournament MVP, Elena Obono opened scoring at the 17th minute, before adding another to her tally, 11 minutes after to make it 2-0. 
At that pace, the game was almost won from the start. Nuria Massa added a third for Huracanes at the 58th minute, five minutes before Elena completed her hat-trick (63 minute). It was the 5th goal in the competition for the Equatorial Guinea international.
Nuria completed a brace of her own at the 68th minute, before Michelle Ondze got Epah Ngamba's consolation goal at the 75th minute. 
Courtesy a convincing victory in the UNIFFAC zone, Huracanes joins SC Casablanca, AS Mande, Ampem Darkoa, AFC Abidjan, JKT Queens, Mamelodi Sundowns and cup holders AS FAR to complete a formidable eight, set to take part in the competition finals. 
The CAF women's Champions League finals kick-off is set to hold in November from the 5-19 in Côte D'Ivoire after draw must have been concluded.
