Match: Mamelodi Sundowns (South Africa) v ASFAR (Morocco)

Mamelodi Sundowns – Almost there

Mamelodi Sundowns grabbed maximum six points from their first two games to put one foot in the semifinals. But they should beware the unfavorable scenario of losing and missing what seems to be an assured qualification.

The likes of Captain Zanele Nhlapho and star striker Melinda Kgadiete will lead Sundowns hopes in securing at least a point to win the group.

What they said

“I’ve seen ASFAR more than once, it will be an open game as they like to play in a way similar to us. They will be very dangerous. Anything can happen in football, so we have to be cautious,” Jerry Tshabalala, Coach.

ASFAR – Time to revive

After an emphatic 3-0 opening win, ASFAR was thought to wrap the mission with another win over Vihiga Queens to secure their semifinal place. But they were shocked by a 2-0 defeat that mingled the group calculations.

Now they will need their stars Ghizlane Chebbak and Sanaa Mssoudi to be on top again as they need nothing but a win to revive their semifinals hopes.

What they said

“We play with an attacking attitude, that’s our way. We don’t know how Mamelodi Sundowns will play next match. Our next match will be very critical, so we have to win it, there’s no other option,” Abdullah Haidamou, Coach.
