MATCH STATS: ASEC Mimosas seeking to keep up momentum against JKT Queens
JKT Queens will face Ivorian opponents for the second time in the CAF Women’s Champions League when they meet ASEC Mimosas on Wednesday evening.
Both teams are unbeaten so far in the 2024 edition, JKT Queens opened with a goalless draw against Gaborone United, while ASEC Mimosas claimed a famous 1-0 victory over defending champions TP Mazembe.
JKT previously faced Ivorian opposition in 2023, defeating Athletico Abidjan 2-1 in their second group match. Despite conceding first, goals from Winifrida Gerald (66’) and Alia Salum (85’) turned the tie around.
This will be JKT’s fourth game against a debutant team at the finals (W1 D1 L1), having beaten Athletico Abidjan and lost to SC Casablanca in 2023, before drawing against Gaborone United in their current campaign.
