MATCH STATS: FC Masar take on debutants USFAS Bamako in final Group B fixture

USFAS Bamako will face FC Masar on match day three in Group B at the CAF Women’s Champions League Egypt 2025 on 15 November at 15h00 local time (13h00 GMT).

This will be the first meeting between the sides at the CAF Women’s Champions League.

It is also the first meeting between teams from Mali and Egypt.

Mali’s previous representative at the finals, AS Mande, played against North African opponents AS FAR in their final group game in 2023 and lost 2–0.

This is Masar’s third meeting against West African opponents. They met Nigerian club Edo Queens twice in 2024, drawing 0–0 in both the group stages and third-place match before winning the latter on penalties.

Masar are facing a debutant for the fifth time; their record in these games reads P4 W2 D2.

Masar are yet to lose against a debutant.

 

USFAS Bamako – Key Statistics

·       Lost their last game 2–0 against AS FAR, having begun with a win over FC 15 de Agosto.

·       Will progress to the semi-finals with a win.

·       Progression would see them become the first team from Mali to reach the knockout rounds.

·       Their 5–0 win matched the biggest in tournament history, equalling Mamelodi Sundowns’ 5–0 victory over Wadi Degla in 2022.

·       Are now five group games unbeaten at the finals (W3 D2).

·       Have gone unbeaten in their first two games for a second consecutive tournament, also winning and drawing in 2024.

·       Are only the second team to go five group games without defeat, joining Mamelodi Sundowns (W4 D1).

·       Should they avoid defeat, they will join Sundowns as only the second team to go through two group stages without losing. Sundowns went nine group matches unbeaten (W8 D1).

·       Yassmin Zezo scored twice against FC 15 de Agosto, becoming the first Masar player to net multiple goals in a single CAF Women’s Champions League match.

·       Zezo became the first player to score in two editions for FC Masar.

·       Zezo is now their all-time top scorer at the finals with three goals.

·       Another goal for Zezo will see her become the first Masar player to score three goals in a single edition.
