- Simba Queens recorded their first win in the CAF WCL with this victory, in their first participation at their finals after losing their opening game to hosts AS FAR.
- This was the second time that teams from the WAFU Zone and CECAFA were meeting at the CAF WCL, it was the first time that the team from East Africa had won. In the 2021 tournament Nigerian team Rivers Angel defeated Kenya side Vihiga Queens 4-0.
- Opah Clement scored Simba Queens first goal at the CAF WCL when opening the scoring in the 53rd minute.
- Barakat Olaiya had two goal involvements in this match making an assist for Opah Clement’s opening goal, while converting an 80th minute penalty.

- Barakat Olaiya is the second player at the 2022 CAF WCL Finals to score a goal and make an assist in the same game, she joins Green Buffaloes Ireen Lungu who made two assists and scored a goal in her teams 4-0 win over Determine Girls in their opening game.
- Determine Girls are the first club to lose their opening two games at the 2022 CAF WCL Finals, they are the third team in tournament history along with AS Mandé and Rivers Angels to lose their opening two games at the finals.
- Determine Girls are only the second club to fail to score in their opening two games at the CAF WCL Finals, along with Rivers Angel who lost their opening game in 2021 against AS FAR (0-3) and their second game against Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies (0-1).

- Simba Queens are the third team in CAF WCL finals history to win their second group game after losing their first they join Malabo Kings of Equatorial Guinea, who lost their opening game against Hasaacas Ladies but won their second game against Wadi Degla last year. As well as Vihiga Queens who lost their first match in 2021 against Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies but won their second against AS FAR.
- For the second tournament in succession the CECAFA representative at the CAF WCL after losing their opening match of the tournament bounces back to win their second game, as was the case with Vihiga Queens of Kenya in 2021.
- Determine Girls have conceded six goals in their opening two games the joint most number of goals that a team has conceded after two games at the finals, in 2021 Malian team AS Mandé also let in six goals in their first two game. They lost 3-1 to Wadi Degla in their first game and then 3-0 to Hasaacas Ladies in their second game.
