TP Mazembe to represent UNIFFAC in the CAF Women's Champions League 2024

TP Mazembe from the Democratic Republic of Congo have won the 2024 CAF Women's Champions League UNIFFAC Zonal Qualifier.  

They join Aigles de la Médina from Senegal, Edo Queens of Nigeria and Univerisyt of the Western Cape from South Africa in the list of teams that have qualified for the Final competition. 

The Congolese side emerged victorious in the UNIFFAC tournament, defeating Lekie Football Filles (Cameroon), CSM Diables Noires (Congo), and Atlético Malabo (Equatorial Guinea) to top the mini-league with a total of 7 points. 

Under the guidance of coach Lamia Boumehdi, TP Mazembe have once again qualified for the final stages of Africa's most prestigious women's club competition, following their debut in 2022, when they narrowly missed out of a semi-final place.

About TP Mazembe (DR Congo) 

The women side of TP Mazembe, based in Lubumbashi, was founded on September 28, 2020. 

Shortly after its inception, the team, known as the Corbelles, achieved the feat of winning the Lubumbashi and Haut-Katanga championships in 2021. 

This regional dominance quickly extended to the national level, with the club securing three DR Congo championships titles

Despite winning the 2022 UNIFFAC edition, TP Mazembe could not progress beyond the group stage of the 2022 CAF Women's Champions League.
