Tshabalala calls for improvement despite resounding victory
Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies coach, Jerry Tshabalala says he appreciates the 4-0 win over Central Bank of Ethiopia, but still feels a lot needs to improve with his side should they successfully defend their CAF Women’s Champions League title.
Tshabalala was speaking after what seemed to be a clinical display against the Ethiopians who ultimately saw their campaign come to an end as a result of the heavy loss to the defending champions at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium in Casablanca on Wednesday.
The Sundowns coach emphasised the need for club to improve certain areas that he felt have not really been up to their standards that saw them lose their first match 1-0 to debutants, FC Masar.
“It was important for us to bounce back strong. We started on negative note and needed to redeem ourselves. Credit must go to CBE; I think they are a good side despite us getting four goals. We appreciate the victory but there’s few things that I am not happy with our we play. We still have a few things to fix. We appreciate the victory, but we must continue to work hard”, said the Sundowns mentor.
The South Africans are chasing a record third title in four years.
They will be up against Group B leaders, Edo Queens who drew their second group match against FC Masar on the same evening.
