Easy wins for Nigeria and Ethiopia in U20 FIFA Women's World Cup qualifiers

Nigeria and Ethiopia validated their tickets for the third round of qualifying for the U20 FIFA Women’s World Cup Costa Rica 2022™ after their respective victories against Central African Republic and Rwanda on Wednesday.

At Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos, the Falconets were serene from the start of the game. The good operation was carried out by the Nigerians in the first leg with a 7-0 success in Douala, Cameroon where CAR have to play their matches in the absence of an approved stadium on their own territory.

The return match in Nigeria has also been a new health walk for the local players who scored 4 goals by Flourish Sebastine, Mercy Idoko (a brace) and Blessing Okpe to complete a success with the overall score of 11-0.

In the next round, Nigeria will face either Egypt or Congo.

In Wednesday's other match, in Bahir Dar, Ethiopia, goals from Mesay Tanga (33 ') and Turist Lema (41') as well as Aregash Tadesse's brace in the second half-time confirmed the success of the Ethiopians over their counterparts of Rwanda with an aggregate score of 8-0.

Indeed, during the first leg, the punishment (4-0) was the same for the Rwandans who are now eliminated.

In the next round Ethiopia will face Eritrea or Tanzania.
