FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup qualifiers draw concluded

The draw to for FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup™ was officially conducted by CAF on Thursday, 8 June at the CAF Headquarters producing some interesting ties as the road to the global showpiece officially begins.

The first six nations with the lowest rankings will take centre stage in a round-robin format between 1 – 10 September.

Equatorial Guinea will cross swords against Libya, while Togo take on Guinea Bissau, with Mauritius facing off against Chad.

The victors of this round will then move to the second round of the qualifiers.

Looking at other fixtures, an epic battle awaits between Equatorial Guinea and Libya with the winner having to face Ethiopia.

All eyes will be glued on the exciting west African derby when Senegal face off with Mali in what promises to be two thrilling rounds of African women’s football.

Semi-Finalists of the last edition FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup, Nigeria face a Burundi in another interesting tie to look forward to. Ghana in the meantime will await the winners of the clash between Togo and Guinea Bissau.

These second qualifying round matches will take place from between 6 - 15 October, with the winners joining the third round of qualifiers scheduled between 12 – 19 November 2023.

The four countries that emerge from the next round will then face each face each other in a round-robin format to determine two representatives for Africa at the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup.
