FIFA World Cup 2026: DR Congo looking to build on Portugal result against Colombia
DR Congo will look to take another step towards the knockout stages when they face Colombia in Guadalajara after claiming a historic point against Portugal in their opening match.
Sébastien Desabre's side announced themselves on the world stage with a hard-fought 1-1 draw against the Europeans, recovering from a goal down to earn the country's first-ever point at the FIFA World Cup.
The result underlined the progress made by the Leopards in recent years.
Against Colombia, the Central Africans will be eager to show that their performance against Portugal was no isolated result.

Colombia present a different challenge
Colombia head into the encounter full of confidence after opening their campaign with a 3-1 victory over Uzbekistan.
Luis Díaz remains the main attacking threat, while Jhon Arias and striker Jhon Durán have also impressed in the early stages of the tournament.
Desabre, however, has already shown that his side are capable of frustrating technically gifted opponents. Limiting the influence of Díaz and winning the midfield battle will be key if DR Congo are to continue their positive start.
The pace of the Congolese attack could also prove effective against Colombia.
