Responsibilities:

·      Lead and offer administrative support to the operations of the Judicial Bodies. (Ethics and Disciplinary Committee and Appeal Committee)

·      Propose, plan, and facilitate the decision-making process of the Judicial Bodies.

·      Oversee the preparation of all disciplinary cases for hearing. (Receive complaints, investigate, correspond with the parties, and submit cases to the Judicial Bodies)

·      Convene and manage the meetings of the Judicial Bodies.

·      Proofread and review decisions proposed by the Judicial Bodies before submitting them to the chairman for signature.

·      Oversee the drafting of prehearing briefs and accompany them with all relevant jurisprudence for the Judicial Bodies.

·      Communicate the decisions of the Judicial Bodies to the parties concerned.

·      Compile and update a table of all financial sanctions imposed by the Judicial Bodies.

·      Oversee the compilation of a list of players suspended or expelled for forthcoming CAF Competitions and ensure it is communicated to the relevant member association / club.

·      Oversee the integrity unit and lead match fixing and integrity related alerts and investigations

·      Develop and monitor the implementation of the integrity plan related to CAF competitions.

·      Work hand in hand with FIFA and the Integrity Officers of the member associations on all integrity related matters.

·      Conduct workshops and sensitize member associations and zones on disciplinary and ethics procedures and integrity awareness.

·      Propose amendments to the CAF Disciplinary and Ethics Code where necessary

·      Maintain annual data of all the cases filed in a financial year. (number of cases, nature of cases, outcomes, appeals and observations/recommendations on deterrent measures)

·      Carry out any other task necessary to deliver CAF’s strategic and administrative objectives.

·      Any other legal duties that may be assigned from time to time.

 

Requirements (profile):

·      Master’s degree in international Sports Law

·      Admission to the bar as a practising advocate

·      At least 7 years experience in the legal department (preferably the judicial bodies) of a sports organisation.

·      Additional studies in sports law is an advantage.

·      Organized and detail oriented.

·      Fluent in both English & French spoken and written, command of the Arabic is an advantage.
