DR Congo Head of State congratulates CAF President Dr Motsepe for ‘world class AFCON’ during CAF General Secretary Mosengo-Omba courtesy visit in Kinshasa

The Confédération Africaine de Football (“CAF”) General Secretary, Véron Mosengo-Omba paid a courtesy visit to the Head of State of the Democratic Republic of Congo, HE Felix Tshisekedi in Kinshasa.

President Tshisekedi congratulated CAF President, Dr Patrice Motsepe and the CAF Leadership for delivering the most successful TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire earlier this year.

Mosengo-Omba said: “President H.E Tshisekedi is a passionate football supporter and we thank him for receiving us. We discussed a number of matters including the progress made in bringing stability in Congolese Football Federation and other football development matters in the Democratic Republic of Congo.”

“President Tshisekedi congratulated the CAF Leadership of Dr Patrice Motsepe for an outstanding TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire and once again committed to work close with Football to promote development in the country and the continent,” Mosengo-Omba said.

Last week, CAF successfully launched a CAF D License Coaching Programme for Women’s Football in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The programme, which was attended by aspirant coaches from Kwilu-Ngongo in Congo-Central and is a CAF initiative conducted in close partnership with the Congolese Football Federation (FECOFA) aimed at giving Women’s Football in the Congo a shot in the arm.
